About



Our Mission at the Ninth Avenue Association, is to promote the individual merchant and to produce quality events, and promotions, that generate business for all participants and foster a strong and unified sense of community.



Each member of the Ninth Avenue Association, knows and understands the level of quality that is expected when working on any of our events, and our promotions.


As the oldest, and largest continuing food festival in New York City, we understand how much time and energy it takes to produce a quality festival and we are always willing to do whatever it takes to make the event happen, on a grand scale. When we take on each project, we devote huge blocks of time to researching all the elements that are involved. The Ninth Avenue Association, is committed to working together with our clients and merchants, to make that event unique, high quality, and profitable. We will do everything we can to make the event a huge success for everyone involved.

WHAT ARE THE STEPS IF I WANT A SPACE AT THE EVENT?
Applications are forwarded upon request. After filing your application, return it to us with payment via mail. Wait to hear from us on the status of your acceptance via email or mail within 1-5 days of us receiving your application and full payment. If accepted, you will receive a participant packet 20-30 days before the start of the event will all of the relevant set-up information.

WHAT DOCUMENTATION DO I NEED TO PARTICIPATE?
ALL Vendors must have a New York State Tax ID#

Merchandise Vendors are required to have an up to date Street Fair Vending Permit from the Department of Consumer Affairs. Visit the CITYWIDE LICENSING CENTER at 42 Broadway New York, NY, 10004.
Food Vendors must have a Food Protection/Safe Serve License. Food Vendors must apply for a TEMPORARY FOOD SERVICE ESTABLISHMENT PERMIT from the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Food Vendors cooking with propane must acquire a Certificate of Fitness from the New York City Fire Department at 9 Metrotech Center in Brooklynn.

WHEN IS YOUR DEADLINE?
We do not have any deadlines we accept vendors until the even is full. We DO NOT ACCEPT checks the week before the event, CREDIT CARD OR CASH ONLY.

DO YOU STILL HAVE SPACE? 
We suggest that you always apply to an event, event if we are sold out. You can be placed on a waiting list.

CAN I PAY A DEPOSIT OR PARTIAL PAYMENT?
No, we do not accept deposits or partial payments. You must send payment in full for each space you will have at the event.

WHEN DO WE FIND OUT IF WE'VE BEEN ACCEPTED? 
You will receive a status letter within 2-5 business days of us receiving your application with payment in full. If you would like to receive it VIA Email, please check that box on the main application. 

WHEN DO WE FIND OUT OUR SPACE LOCATION?
We send out the participant packet with all relevant set up information, including your space location, 20-30 days prior to the event. 

CAN I DROP OFF THE APPLICATION TO YOUR OFFICE? 
No. We do not allow exhibitors to drop anything off at our office. Please mail or email.

WHAT ARE FREE POSTCARDS? 
We print 4x6 promotional postcards for almost every event. We give them to exhibitors, and merchants, so you can mail them to your mailing lists. 

HOW MUCH DOES IT COSTS TO DO THE EVENT? 
Each event, has a different cost, please read the application to find out. 

WHAT DO EXHIBITORS GET FOR THE FEE?
We provide you with the space only. We do not provide anything else. 

CAN I GET A DOUBLE BOOTH, OR MORE? 
Yes, just note on the application that you would like 2 or more spaces. 

DO YOU ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS?
Yes. There is a place on the main application to put your credit card information, and compliance. (There is an additional fee for processing.) 

DO YOU ALLOW BOOTH SHARING?
Yes.

ARE THERE ANY GOOD SPACES LEFT?
If you are asking more than 40 days before the event, then we have not allocated yet you can still put in a request. However, there are no guarantees. We allocate the spaces depending on who signed up first, and many other factors. If you are asking within 40 days, you are welcome to put in a request, but again, there are no guarantees. 

WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE MORE THAN 5 EMPLOYEES?
The you will need to come in as a large commercial vendor/sponsor. The sponsorship packets are available upon request.

DO YOU HAVE A JURY OR APPLICATION FEE? 
No. 

WHAT TIME CAN I SET UP?
You will receive your participant packet 20-30 days before the event, which will provide all relevant set-up information.

WHAT DO I DO IF I CAN'T MAKE IT TO AN EVENT I'VE BEEN ACCEPTED TO?
Please let us know in writing and not our refund policy: If you cancel 60 or more days from the event then we can give 50% back, if it is within the 60 days then there is no refund. 

WHY IS MY COMPANY NAME NOT ON THE PARTICIPANT PACKET MAP? 
The names on the participant packet map that you receive are of the merchants on the street. We do not list the name of the exhibitors on the street. Your space will be marked with a number only. 

WHAT IF IT'S RAINING? 
All of our events are rain or shine. There are no refunds.
